Doctorate of Philosophy in Chemical Physics- Physics

About the course

There are many interesting research problems at the interface between Chemistry and Physics. Students interested in these problems, may choose to take their Ph.D. degree in Chemical Physics, allowing them to conduct research in both the chemistry and physics departments. This program allows a deeper foundation in mathematics and physics than for the physical chemistry major. The requirements are flexible and are planned and approved by the Chemical Physics Committee and the individual student. The formal requirements are either those of a major in physical chemistry with a minor in physics or a major in physics with a minor in chemistry.
