About the course

The Polymer Program serves as the sole center in the State of Connecticut for graduate research and education programs focusing on polymer science and engineering. Established in 1965, the Polymer Program is a nationally and internationally recognized center of excellence for interdisciplinary research and education in the fields of polymer science and engineering. The Program is dedicated to meeting the educational needs of its graduate and professional students, to providing lifelong learning opportunities in the study of polymeric materials, to assisting Connecticut industry in developing polymer technology, and to developing the knowledge base regarding polymeric materials and in disseminating this knowledge on a global basis.

  A doctoral degree in the Polymer Science requires students to follow the general rules, regulations, and requirements for the Doctoral degree as established by the Graduate School in the latest Graduate Catalog. Additional program requirements for a Ph.D. degree are listed below.

  The typical duration of a Doctoral degree is 5 years. Most graduate students enrolled in the PhD program are supported by graduate assistantships, which include a stipend, tuition waiver, and both medical and dental insurance. Scholarships - View all scholarships Internships

Entry requirements for University of Connecticut

  Transcripts from all colleges or universities attended, regardless of whether or not a degree was received.

  Recommendation letters: Three recommendation letters are required. May be submitted on line or directly to Program.

  GRE (General Test) & TOEFL scores*: Please arrange to have them sent directly from ETS to our university. Our university code is 3915. Department code is not needed.

  Minimum requirement – 550 Paper-based, 79 Internet-based, or IELTS 6.5

  A cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 for your entire undergraduate career or

  A grade-point average of at least 3.0 for your last two undergraduate years or

  Exceptional work in your entire final undergraduate year (3.5 or better)

  Graduate work with a minimum grade-point average of 3.0 or better even if the undergraduate grade-point average meets the above criteria.
