About the course

Plasma physics is the study of charged particles and fluids interacting with self-consistent electric and magnetic fields. It is a basic research discipline that has many different areas of application — space and astrophysics, controlled fusion, accelerator physics and beam storage. Basic research is carried out and applied to all of these areas by CU scientists in the Physics Department and collaborators in Institutes such as LASP and departments such as APS. The three broad categories of plasma research—theoretical, computer simulation and laboratory studies—are all well-represented in the Physics Department. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Colorado - Boulder

Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, or have done work equivalent to that required for such a degree. Show promise of ability to pursue advanced study and research, as judged by the student’s scholastic record. Have adequate preparation to enter graduate study in the chosen field. Have at least a 2.75 (2.00=C) undergraduate grade point average. Proof of English proficiency - TOEFL: Ibt -89. GRE general test results required for all applicants.
