Our faculty combine their knowledge of educational theory and practice with physics specific concepts to better understand how students learn and teachers teach. The Physics Education Research group works ly with colleagues in the Physics Outreach program, the College of Education, and Purdue's Discovery Learning Research Center to implement new ideas in learning and teaching. Current interests include science teacher education, sociocultural influences on teaching and learning, evidence-based inquiry in teacher education, teacher knowledge and beliefs, and student attitudes and perceptions of physics.
