About the course
To prepare leaders in the profession of physical therapy that can serve as change agents in the profession, to address health issues through the life span, negotiate/advocate services for clients, educate clients and students, consult with organizations, and contribute to the profession through research. This program is for physical therapists interested in obtaining skills needed for academic/research careers. The distance hybrid program allows students to participate from anywhere in the world. Students come to our Fort Lauderdale campus twice a year, during winter and fall semesters. Entry requirements for Nova Southeastern University - Enrollment Advisory Group
Applicants must be graduates from physical therapy schools accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). Graduates of physical therapy schools in other countries are also eligible with review of academic credentials by an appropriate agency and review of TOEFL scores.

A qualified applicant with a master's degree or an entry-level DPT degree is required to complete a course of study with a minimum of 60 credit hours.
A qualified applicant with a post professional doctoral (including transitional DPT) degree from a regionally accredited school may transfer up to 6 credit hours.
Completion of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) with writing component is required (GRE may be waived for applicants with academic faculty appointment and peer-reviewed publication record),
Completion of The Test of English as a Foreign language (TOEFL) when appropriate.
A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a physical therapist.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) minimum score required = 6
Internet based (iBT) = 79, Computerized score = 213, Paper score = 550.
