About the course

Entry requirements for University of Wisconsin - Madison
Write a Statement of Purpose outlining your goals for graduate education , Include a resume or curriculum vitae, Provide your Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores, Please upload copies of transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended, whether or not you earned a degree. If you are admitted to the program, the Graduate School will request your original transcripts in order to complete your admission. Original transcripts should bear the official university seal and be signed in ink by the registrar. Applicants to the Ph.D. program may submit supplementary application materials. Please limit any supplementary materials to 10 printed pages. Please do not submit CDs, DVDs, etc. Arrange for three letters of recommendation
The Joint Ph.D. Program in Mass Communications, however, has additional requirements, which are listed below.
Bachelor’s and thesis-based Master’s degrees from accredited institutions
Applicants must receive their M.A. or M.S. before the start of the fall semester for which they are applying
Recommended minimum 3.5 cumulative graduate GPA (4.0) scale on M.A. or M.S. degree course work
Official minimum score requirements are listed below:
TOEFL, Internet-based Test: Recommended minimum 92 (120 point scale)
TOEFL, Paper-based Test: Recommended minimum 580 (677 point scale)
IELTS: Recommended minimum score of 7
A minimum undergraduate grade-point average (GPA) of 3.00 on the equivalent of the last 60 semester hours (approximately two years of work) or a master’s degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 is required. Applicants from an international institution must demonstrate strong academic achievement comparable to a 3.00 for an undergraduate or master’s degree.
