About the course
The Faculty of Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences provides solutions to global challenges. We teach our students and conduct our research program to help feed the world, ensure a healthy environment, strengthen individual and community well-being, and nurture bio-resource innovation.This is a four-year research-based PhD program.Forest Economics focuses on public policy and regulatory issues in the forestry sector. It explores the roles of institutions and property rights in regulating the timber supply, and the provision, production, and trading of forest resources and products.Researchers in REES study forest policy and economics. Entry requirements for University of Alberta
Thesis-based Masters program in a related area, or its academic equivalent, from a recognized institution. Grade point average (GPA) of 3.3 out of 4.0 in the last two years (approximately 60 credits) of post-secondary study.TOEFL - Minimum score of 550 (paper-based), or a total score of 88 with a score of at least 20 on each of the individual skill areas (internet-based). IELTS - Minimum overall band score of 6.5, with at least 5.5 on each band (Academic).
