About the course

The Entomology teaching programs provide high quality, broad-based instruction in the science of entomology at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Our undergraduate teaching program serves the campus community by meeting the educational needs of students majoring in other Agriculture and Life Science disciplines and those in the Agricultural Institute, as well as satisfying the curiousity of individuals simply interested in the relationships among arthropods and the physical and biological environments around them. How to apply

Entry requirements for North Carolina State University - Raleigh

IELTS Academic-6.5 or higher (minimum of 6.5 in each sub score)

  TOEFL IBT-International applicants must also have a TOEFL score of 80 or higher

  TOEFL Paper Based-550 or higher.

  To be considered for admission in full graduate standing, applicants must have:

  (a) a four-year bachelor?s degree (or equivalent) from a regionally accredited college or university. Exceptions to standard accreditation may be granted for applicants with international degrees, including applicants with three-year degrees from institutions in Europe participating in the Bologna Process.

  (b) a GPA of at least 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) in their undergraduate degrees.

  Students are expected to have a background in biology and to have taken appropriate courses in the physical sciences, e.g. chemistry, biochemistry, mathematics, and physics. Students will need to make up deficiencies at the discretion of their graduate advisory committee. Students are typically required to have a ?B? average (3.0 GPA) in biology courses and an overall 3.0 GPA during the last two years of their undergraduate programs.

  GRE- A minimum score of 306 (1000 under the old scoring system) is required for admission to the entomology Ph.D. program.

  One (1) official transcript from each college/university previously attended

  Three (3) letters of recommendation from individuals at institutions or businesses where you have studied or worked

  Statement of purpose: a 1-2 page summary describing your interests in entomology and reasons for attending graduate school
