About the course

Waterloo?s Master of Applied Science (MASc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs in Nanotechnology are the first of their kind in Canada. Conduct electrical and computer engineering research at the nanoscale. In this program, you will work on research with an Electrical and Computer Engineering faculty member and gain perspective from other disciplines. The University of Waterloo's research efforts in nanotechnology are extremely interdisciplinary, with seven departments collaborating to form the Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology. Waterloo Engineering offers this collaborative program to MASc and PhD students. You may need to take additional courses to fulfill requirements in the nanotechnology field. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Waterloo

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering requires either (i) a 75% overall standing in the last two years, or equivalent, in a relevant four-year Honours Bachelor's degree or equivalent or (ii) a 75% overall standing or equivalent, in a relevant four-year Honours Bachelor's degree or equivalent, as the minimum requirement for admission to a Master's program for applicants educated at a Canadian institution. A 75% overall standing or equivalent, in a relevant four-year Honours Bachelor's degree or equivalent is the minimum requirement for admission to a Master's program for applicants educated outside of Canada.

  At the time of admission, each student must have a faculty supervisor who has endorsed the recommendation for admission.

  Two references, at least one academic

  Proof of English language proficiency, if applicable. TOEFL 80 (writing 22, speaking 20, reading 20, listening 18) IELTS 6.5 (writing 6.0, speaking 6.0)
