About the course

The Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB) graduate program is designed for students interested in the study of mechanisms controlling the composition, structure, and functional processes of ecological systems and the mechanisms that regulate the pattern and rate of evolutionary change within and among species. Our interdepartmental program provides students with an interdisciplinary education and opportunities to train and conduct research in an area of interest. Our graduates are qualified to pursue basic and applied research careers in academia, government, and industry. Entry requirements for Iowa State University

An undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or better (3.3 GPA for any graduate work). Research readiness. International applicants: An english proficiency score of 79-iBT, 550-PBT, 6.5-IELTS. Letters of recommendation that clearly describe research performance or suitability to pursue research. Strong performance in undergraduate research experiences and/or capstone projects. Related internships/work experience. Strong performance in upper-level undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses.
