About the course

Soil physical properties affect water flow and sediment transport across the landscape, control chemical and pollutant movement from surface and subsurface sources to groundwater, regulate natural temperature dynamics and gas exchange with the atmosphere, and determine soil productivity for plant growth. Thus, soil physical properties are a key consideration for productive and sustainable agricultural management, land development, and environmental stewardship. Research, extension, and educational efforts in the department involve a broad range of topics aimed at improving management, scientific knowledge, and education on soil physical properties.

　　Alan FranzluebbersPhysical properties and processes of soils play important roles in their use for agricultural, environmental and engineering purposes. Aziz Amoozegar (Environmental Soil Physics) is involved with teaching and research in the areas of soil physics and waste management. His areas of interest are water flow, pollutant transport, and development of equipment and procedures for measuring soil physical and hydrological properties. Specifically, he is interested in developing techniques as well as providing training to allow professionals to evaluate and use sites for various purposes, ranging from wastewater management to engineering projects. How to apply

Entry requirements for North Carolina State University - Raleigh

IELTS Academic-6.5 or higher (minimum of 6.5 in each sub score)

　　TOEFL IBT-International applicants must also have a TOEFL score of 80 or higher

　　To be considered for admission in full graduate standing, applicants must have:

　　(a) a four-year bachelor?s degree (or equivalent) from a regionally accredited college or university.
