About the course

The doctoral program in the School of Communication at the University of Miami prepares you for a career in higher education, non-profit and industry. We offer interdisciplinary education and research experiences in the following areas: Communication and Technology, Health Communication, Environmental Communication, Intercultural Communication, Global Communication Communication and Social Change, Organizational Communication, Strategic Communication, Journalism Studies, Media Studies.

　　You will develop a thorough understanding of communication theories, methods, and research, while gaining experience teaching in a university setting. This four-year degree provides a broad foundation while giving you the opportunity to customize your studies, supported by faculty mentoring.

How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Miami

A Master's degree in communication, or in another appropriate field, is required of all applicants. The degree must be in addition to a bachelor's degree. All degrees must be from accredited institutions. A GPA of 3.0. International applicants are required to submit official English proficiency exam scores. We accept the TOEFL and IELTS. We look for a minimum of 90 on the TOEFL and 7.0 for the IELTS.
