About the course

The PhD requires ninety six hours beyond a baccalaureate degree or sixty four hours beyond a master’s degree. These totals include a significant amount of credit for research (CHEN 691). The specific course requirements imposed by the Department of Chemical Engineering are that a PhD student must complete a minimum of 29 hours of formal course work beyond the baccalaureate degree. 　　Statement of Purpose- A one- to two-page essay on why you would like to pursue a graduate degree in chemical engineering at Texas A&M. It is also helpful to include an area of interest, relevant experience, and plans for your graduate research.

　　GRE test scores are required for all applicants.

　　Letters of recommendation/evaluation- You must request three (3) recommendations/evaluations before you are able to submit your application.

　　Verification of English proficiency can be achieved by a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of at least 550 paper-based, 213 computer-based, 79-80 internet-based or GRE verbal score of 146. A minimum IELTS score of 6.0 overall band.
