How to apply
Entry requirements for University of Notre Dame
Applicants to the program should have an undergraduate degree in engineering or related field, such as the biological or physical sciences. Students with an undergraduate degree in biology should have at least one year of college level calculus and physics. Students in the physical sciences and mathematics with specific interests in biological systems are similarly welcome to apply. A masters degree is not required, and undergraduates should apply directly to the Ph.D. program.
The GRE general test is required. There is no minimum score, but successful applicants generally score higher than 725 on the mathematics portion of the test. Undergraduate GPA and letters of recommendation play a major role in the selection. If you are taking the TOEFL IBT, then the minimum score is a total of 80 points, with a minimum of 23 on the Speaking section. If you are taking the IELTS, the minimum score is 7.0. An undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale
