About the course

The Astrophysical and Planetary Science department at the University of Colorado Boulder is a very diverse department with interests in planets, stars, galaxies, cosmology and the techniques to measure interpret and teach. We work ly with a number of other departments (Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Geological Sciences, Chemistry and Biochemistry, etc.) as well as with a number of scientific labs positoned in Boulder. Astronomy education uses research based methods to study how students learn in an attempt to advance teaching of astronomy at all levels. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Colorado - Boulder

A thorough undergraduate preparation in physics and mathematics is necessary for graduate study. Courses should include thermodynamics, mechanics, electricity and magnetism, atomic physics, and mathematics at least through complex variables and differential equations. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of planetary science, a broader range of undergraduate preparation is considered. The Graduate Record Examination general aptitude tests are required for application to our department. IELTS: 6.0, TOEFL ibt: 75, TOEFL pbt: 537

  University Requirement: Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, or have done work equivalent to that required for such a degree. Have adequate preparation to enter graduate study in the chosen field. Have at least a 2.75 (2.00=C) undergraduate grade point average.
