About the course

Work leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is designed to give the candidate a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of his or her professional field and training in methods of research. The final basis for granting the degree shall be the candidate’s grasp of the subject matter of a broad field of study and a demonstrated ability to do independent research. In addition, the candidate must have acquired the ability to express thoughts clearly and forcefully in both oral and written languages. Entry requirements for Texas A and M University - College Station

Submit official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended to Office of Graduate Admissions.

　　The basic requirement for admission to graduate studies at Texas A&M University is a scholastic record which, over at least the last two years of full-time academic study in a degree program, gives evidence of the applicant’s potential for successful graduate-level work.

　　a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for the most recently earned degree,

　　a score of at least 300 (combined Verbal and Quantitative scores) on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), and

　　three letters of recommendation.

　　Official TOEFL (no more than two years old), with a minimum score of 550 (paper based), 213 (computer based), or 80 (internet based).

　　Official verbal GRE score of 149.

　　Official GMAT verbal score of at least 22.

　　Official IELTS score of 6.0.
