About the course
As a small department within a large School of Music at the University of Iowa, we offer graduate students the best of both worlds: excellent access to research libraries, stimulating performance opportunities, and ample teaching opportunities, all with a maximum of individualized attention from faculty. The University of Iowa offers three tracks for earning a doctorate degree in conducting- Choral Conducting , Orchestral Conducting , and Wind Conducting. Acquisition of the highest level of knowledge and skills in performance that will prepare students for careers in performance or academia. Advanced competencies in repertoire, historical understanding, performance practice, and overall musicianship. Acquisition of knowledge and skills at the highest professional level in all facets and modes of performance within the student's area of study.

A U.S. bachelor?s degree from a regionally accredited college or university, or an equivalent degree from another country as determined by the Office of Admissions.
