About the course

This program is designed for students to consider the field of recreation as a career with a focus on youth. Students will explore using a hands-on approach how to enhance experiences in recreation, sports and leisure, and to create exceptional programming that fosters inclusivity, community and more resilient youth. Students will learn critical thinking, decision making and risk management skills that empower them to lead effectively and respond to challenges. The Youth Recreation Leadership Co-op Diploma Program is ideally suited to international students and Canadian newcomers. Students who complete the program may work in a variety of settings, including but not limited to indoor and outdoor adventure learning centers, day camps, residential overnight summer camps, resorts, municipalities, and sports organizations. This Diploma provides a pathway to work for any type of recreational organization including commercial, not-for-profit and government organizations. All the course material will be presented in such a way as to mitigate the difficulties encountered not only in the subject matter but also in the challenges associated with language, culture, and skills building. How to apply

Entry requirements for Tamwood - Canada

No Criminal Record (police check required)

　　Minimum 65% in either English 12, English Studies 12, English First Peoples 12, ENGL 090, or equivalent.

　　Successful completion of three consecutive full-time years of secondary school and/or post-secondary education taught in the English language in a country where English is the principal language.
