About the course
The Child and Youth Care First Nations program provides students with the knowledge and skills to work with individuals, their families and small groups across a variety of practice settings which provide support to First Nations children, youths and their families. The program reflects the needs of First Nations peoples and is continually developing with involvement from the First Nations communities of the Cowichan area, as well as from the First Nations students who bring the teachings of their communities into the program. How to apply
Entry requirements for Vancouver Island University
Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Proof of English language proficiency is required from applicants for whom English is not their first language or from those whose education was completed in any country where English is not the official language.
International Baccalaureate English A1/A2 - Higher Level (HL)/ Standard Level (SL) grade 3 or higher
International students who are BC high school graduates must have a minimum grade of ?C? in English 12 for direct entry into an academic program.
IELTS (Academic) - 6.5 (no band below 6.0)
TOEFL IBT - 88 (no section below 20)
TOEFL Paper Based Test - 550 (no section below 56)
