About the course
Get hands-on with the basics of chemistry to begin your career as a chemical, laboratory or research technologist in a number of industries, from petroleum and natural gas to environmental consulting. In the Chemical Laboratory Technology program, you’ll learn the fundamentals of chemistry and get hands-on experience using analytical instrumentation to analyze laboratory samples. Eligible students may also participate in a 12-month paid work placement program. As a Chemical Laboratory Technologist, you’ll work in a wide range of industrial and research settings. How to apply
Entry requirements for SAIT Polytechnic
International English Language Testing System (IELTS)-6.0 in each skill/category
Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL)- 60 overall band
TOEFL-A minimum score of 20 in each category(80 total)
Completion of the following courses or equivalents:
At least 60% in Math 30-1 or Pure Math 30, or 75% in Math 30-2,
At least 60% in English Language Arts 30-1 or 75% in English Language Arts 30-2,
At least 60% in Chemistry 30.
