About the course
The Application& Desktop Support Specialist Certificate of Achievement exposes students to the skills used in entry-level positions of technical support. Technical support duties include the daily operation and support of computing across local area networks, applcation-level technical assistance to end-users and creation of written documentation. Technical classes in the certificate map to industry-standard certification tests including: CompTIA A, CompTIA Network, CompTIA Security and a portion of the Cisco CCNA. Job titles include IT Specialist, Desktop Support Specialist, Computer Technician, Computer Support Specialist, Help Desk Analyst, Technical Support Specialist, and Computer Specialist. A portion of this certificate can stack into the Associate of Arts-Transfer of Information Technology and BAS in Cybersecurity.
Learning Outcomes
Certificate recipients should possess the skills & abilities described below:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary
Install, configure and maintain client system software
Install and configure end-user relevant Windows services and applications
Assist end-users with basic software applications

Entry requirements for Bellevue College
Bellevue College admits applicants who meet the following conditions: They are a high school graduate, or hold an equivalent high school credential, such as the GED. Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) and Paper-based TOEFL (PBT): 61 (iBT) or 500 (PBT), Academic IELTS: Overall score of 6.0 with all sub-scores 5.5 or higher.
