About the course

The trumpet program at the Yale School of Music immerses students in solo and ensemble playing in repertoire from early to new music. Students take weekly lessons with Kevin Cobb and participate in weekly studio classes. The program aims to foster students’ creativity and encourage them to explore Yale’s vast resources. In addition to performing solo repertoire, trumpet students participate in chamber music, an integral part of the Yale School of Music experience. They also play in various ensembles in the New Music New Haven concert series, and in the School’s orchestra, the Yale Philharmonia.
