About the course
This program will help you gain the knowledge and skills to work to the full scope of practice of the health care aide/personal support worker role within a range of healthcare settings to deliver safe and effective care. Students will sharpen their knowledge and skills through theory, practice, and the real-world experiences they gain through work practicum rotations and position themselves for multiple paths to employment in health care upon graduation. And participation in MITT’s Work Skills Series workshops ensure graduates enter the workforce with a strong foundation of employability and essential skills.Individuals wishing to pursue a career in health care to support patient care and who are detail oriented, organized, and strong communicators. How to apply
Entry requirements for Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology
Applicants must have a Manitoba high school diploma (or expected completion 45 days prior to the program start date), or equivalent, including:
Grade 12 Math (40S) with a grade of 50% or higher, or equivalent, and
Grade 12 English Language Arts (40S) with a grade of 50% or higher, or equivalent.
Health Care Aide & Unit Clerk applicants must present an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in each component.
No other English Language Proficiency tests, waivers, or equivalencies will be accepted.
