Sharpen your skills and techniques as a stylist under the guidance of industry veteran instructors and learn the ins-and-outs of the workplace—customer service, client booking, effective product sales—in our full-service salon learning environment.

  Women and men’s haircuts, barbering, colour and chemical texture services—these are the skills employers demand of our Hairstyling graduates and they are the ones you will explore in detail in this program. Apprenticeship Manitoba Level 1 accreditation means students who successfully complete the program and accreditation requirements receive credit toward their apprenticeship path. And participation in MITT’s Work Skills Series workshops ensures you enter the workforce with a strong foundation in the employability and essential skills employers demand. How to apply

Entry requirements for Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology

Applicants must have a Manitoba high school diploma (or expected completion within 45 days of the program start date), or equivalent, including:

  Grade 12 Math (40S) with a grade of 50% or higher, or equivalent, and

  Grade 12 English Language Arts (40S) with a grade of 50% or higher, or equivalent.

  IELTS:6.0 overall, no band less than 5.5

  TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 78, with no less than 17 in each component

  TOEFL pBT:Overall score of 550, with no less than 50 (unscaled) in each component
