About the course
This course is for people who are interested in working in Aged Care, supporting people in community or residential settings. As an Individual Support Worker, you will be able to make a real difference in people’s everyday lives, supporting them to maintain their independence and standard of living. You will learn current practices relating to infection control and working safely. This is a highly practical course, including work placements in an aged care residential facility. Graduates will be provided with the knowledge, skills and values to carry out activities related to maintaining and maximising the independence and wellbeing of people who are ageing. You will learn specialist skills in supporting people experiencing dementia, and people at end-of-life stage.
