About the course

Progress your career in the construction industry with this course. Completion of this carpentry qualification gives you the opportunity to become a recognised tradesperson. Gain the skills and knowledge required to work as carpenter in the building and construction industry. According to the Australian Government's Job Outlook service, carpentry skills are in demand with employers finding it hard to fill vacancies for qualified carpenters and joiners. This is a very large occupation with around 69,000 job openings expected over the next five years.

　　In this course, you'll learn how to construct, install, finish and repair structures and fixtures for residential, commercial and industrial developments. You will work with a range of tools, equipment and materials to construct frames for walls and ceilings, construct pitched and advanced roofs and eaves, and erect and dismantle formwork for footings and slabs on the ground.
