About the course
The Bachelor of Fashion Design is a three-year professional degree which will prepare graduates for work in the fashion industry in various contexts across national and international markets. Whilst focusing on the skills required for working professionally as a fashion designer, the degree will also provide graduates with the skills required for a number of related fashion industry work roles including fashion manager, design manager, fashion merchandiser, fashion buyer and fashion stylist. The Bachelor of Fashion Design will be delivered at the Fashion Design Studio (FDS) at Ultimo in Sydney. The course has been developed in consultation with industry including input from successful Australian designers who previously studied at TAFE NSW. Work Placement Requirements: Students are required to complete a total of 105 work placement hours as part of this degree. Students will work with the host employer to determine work placement hours which could be a period of 15 days, 7 hours per day or some other flexible arrangement.
