About the course

On this BSc Physics degree you'll study time and space as you explore the physical theories that help us understand our universe. You'll also gain advanced analytical, mathematical and computing skills, valued by recruiters in a wide range of professions.You’ll immerse yourself in fascinating topics such as quantum mechanics, special relativity and the evolution of galaxies.You'll develop the skills to become a physicist as you choose from a range of optional modules in every year of study. You'll carry out real research projects. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Southampton

GCSE Applicants need Grade B/6 in GCSE Mathematics and Grade C/4 in GCSE English language, applicants below this standard will not be considered.

　　International Baccalaureate - A typical offer for the IB is 32 points overall, including 5 points in Standard or Higher Level Mathematics or Maths Studies. Please note that we cannot accept subjects that make you eligible for direct entry (for example both Mathematics and Physics at Higher Level).

　　If you can demonstrate that you have achieved IELTS 6.5 with at least 5.5 in each band, or an equivalent standard in other qualifications approved by the University
