About the course
If you want to gain a broad understanding of physics while exploring astrophysics, this course is for you. At Sussex, your teaching is underpinned by the latest cutting-edge research. Our faculty work at the forefront of astrophysics, from exploring dark energy, to observing the origins and evolution of our universe with the largest available telescopes and gravitational waves. In your final-year project and your research placement opportunities, you?ll interact with world-leading astrophysicists. You?ll have access to the latest equipment, including a rooftop optical, radio, and muon telescope. You?ll be part of a community ? our lively Physics Society arranges regular social events. Our building is a real hub of activity. You?ll have all your practical sessions in our modern teaching laboratories. Outside the classroom, you can study or catch up with your friends in our popular student spaces.

Subjects A-levels must include Mathematics at grade B. Physics A-level is desirable, but we will consider applicants on a case-by-case basis without it. GCSEs You should have a broad range of GCSEs grade 9-4 (A*-C), including good grades in relevant subjects. International Baccalaureate Typical offer 30 points overall from the full IB Diploma. IELTS (Academic) 6.0 overall, including at least 5.5 in each component Toefl ibt 80 overall, including at least 17 in Listening, 18 in Reading, 20 in Speaking, 17 in Writing
