About the course

The pharmaceutical industry in the UK has a greater impact on the UK economy than any other high-tech industry. Employing 73,000 people, of whom around 27,000 are directly involved in research and development (R&D), the pharmaceutical industry offers graduates a chance to play an important role in the development of new medicines with employment opportunities existing at all stages of the product pipeline. Our BSc degree course in Pharmaceutical Sciences is designed to create the next generation of pharmaceutical scientists, able to work in all stages of the drug development process as part of a multi-disciplinary research team. You’ll learn about drug discovery, formulation, making small molecule medicines as well as some of the cutting edge research that will feed into the pharmaceutical industry in the future. How to apply

Entry requirements for Queen's University Belfast

IELTS - Academic -6.5 minimum of 5.5 in all four elements of the test, TOEFL iBT (Internet based test)- 90 with minimum marks as follows: Listening - 17, Reading - 18, Speaking - 20, Writing - 17. Please include official transcripts in English of your academic background to date, including high school certificates, English language qualifications, and transcripts of university study, if applicable.

  A level requirements - BBB including Biology and Chemistry + GCSE Mathematics grade C OR BBB including Biology and at least one from Mathematics or Physics + GCSE Chemistry grade C or GCSE Double Award Science grades CC + GCSE Mathematics grade C OR BBB including Chemistry and at least one from Mathematics or Physics + GCSE Biology grade C or GCSE Double Award Science grades CC + GCSE Mathematics grade C. International Baccalaureate Diploma - 32 points overall including 6,5,5 at Higher Level including Chemistry and at least one of Biology (preferred), Mathematics or Physics + GCSE Biology grade C or GCSE Double Award Science grades CC + GCSE Mathematics grade C OR 32 points overall including 6,5,5 at Higher Level including Biology and at least one of Chemistry (preferred), Mathematics or Physics + GCSE Chemistry grade C or GCSE Double Award Science grades CC + GCSE Mathematics grade C.
