About the course

The Economics with French degree integrates core elements from economics degree with French-language modules taught by the School of Arts, English and Languages. Integral to the Economics with French programme is the placement year students complete in a region of the globe where the language being studied is the dominant tongue. A Careers and Work Placement Office ensures that students are well prepared for placement and obtain positions which are of the highest quality. Previously, our students have completed placements in Citi Paris, BNP Paribas Paris, Xerox Paris.

How to apply

Entry requirements for Queen's University Belfast

IELTS - Academic -6.5 minimum of 5.5 in all four elements of the test, TOEFL iBT (Internet based test)- 90 with minimum marks as follows: Listening - 17, Reading - 18, Speaking - 20, Writing - 17. Please include official transcripts in English of your academic background to date, including high school certificates, English language qualifications, and transcripts of university study, if applicable.

  ABB + GCSE Mathematics grade A

  Irish leaving certificate requirements

  H3H3H3H3H3H3/H2H3H3H3H3 + if not offered at Higher Level then Ordinary Level grade O2 in Mathematics

  Access Course

  Successful completion of Access Course with an average of 70%. GCSE Mathematics grade A or equivalent in Access Course.

  International Baccalaureate Diploma

  33 points overall, including 6,5,5 at Higher Level. If not offered at Higher Level/GCSE then Standard Level grade 4 in English and Standard Level grade 6 in Mathematics would be accepted.

  BTEC Level 3 Extended/National Extended Diploma

  QCF Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma (180 credits), with 120 credits at Distinction grade and 60 credits at Merit grade.

  RQF Level 3 BTEC National Extended Diploma (1080 Guided Learning Hours (GLH)), with at least 660 GLH at Distinction grade (minimum 240 GLH to be externally assessed) and 420 GLH at Merit grade.

  Graduate

  A minimum of a 2:2 Honours Degree
