About the course
Within a challenging and supportive environment, you’ll explore a wide range of economic perspectives and approaches to real-world challenges. You’ll develop into a well-rounded economist with the skills that are sought after by top graduate employers. This course covers the core concepts, practices and techniques in economics. You will gain analytical, quantitative, computing, presentation and other transferable skills, preparing you for a variety of exciting careers in the private and public sector.
Through compulsory modules, you'll develop an in-depth understanding of the nature and methods of economic analysis, allowing you to gain insight into the factors that influence income generation, growth, distribution and individual and firm behaviour, together with policy options and dilemmas. A range of optional economics modules will provide you with the opportunity to explore specialist areas such as business economics, behavioural economics, monetary policy, labour economics, international trade, and health.

How to apply
Entry requirements for University of Leeds
A-level: AAA GCSE: Mathematics grade A/7 and English Language grade B/6 or equivalent, or an appropriate English language qualification. IB: 35 points overall including 5 in Standard level/Maths Studies or 4 in Higher level Maths and 5 in English (Standard or Higher Level), with 17 points from Higher Level subjects. IELTS 6.5 overall, with no less than 6.0 in any component.
