About the course

Studying a Chemical Engineering degree provides expert training in modern process engineering, developing analytical and problem-solving skills critical to the application of engineering to industry. Chemical engineers work ly with processes that turn raw materials into valuable products for human use. Their skills ensure that natural resources are used sustainably, and the disposal of by-products is conducted in a safe and environmentally-friendly manner. This professionally accredited degree course provides knowledge and skills across the full spectrum of chemical engineering topics, allowing you to keep your career options open. We have a number of advanced chemical engineering facilities to enhance your studies. Our modern Pilot Chemical Laboratory contains 15 pilot-scale rigs which cover a wide range of unit operations. Other state-of-the-art facilities you may work with include atomic force microscopy, fermentation rigs, surface plasmon resonance and hydrodynamic shear adhesion assays. You will also benefit from a dynamic research environment where pioneering Swansea academics are leading the way in areas such as advanced water treatment technologies.

Entry requirements for Swansea University

ABB-BBB at A level (including Mathematics).

  Variable offers made dependent on subjects studied and all applications are considered on an individual basis, with GCSE grades, AS Level subjects and grades, work experience, references and personal statement taken into account.

  Or 32 at IB to include 5 at Higher Level or 6 at Standard Level Mathematics and 4 at Higher Level or 5 at Standard Level English Language.

  Students studying for BTEC qualifications in relevant subjects require D*D*D* - D*D*D, to include B at A Level Mathematics. If they are not taking A Level Mathematics, they must achieve a minimum D in ‘Mathematics for Technicians’ and D in ‘Further Mathematics for Technicians’ modules of the BTEC. Students are also required to have minimum two A grades at GCSE, to include a minimum grade B in Mathematics and two other Science subjects.
