Bachelors of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce - Accounting

About the course

Develop exceptional financial acumen and engineering prowess by combining a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) program with studies in commerce. Complete this dual program and you'll gain an extra professionally recognised qualification and a highly valued skill set that will place you in high demand with employers. In the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) you’ll develop technical skills through a core specialisation, which will form the basis of your career. Choose from chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronic engineering or software engineering. Depending on your choice of specialisation, the skills you'll develop under the engineering component of the program will allow you to work in a range of fields, from infrastructure and hospitals to energy and software. During your commerce studies you'll complete a range of compulsory courses that cover concepts relevant across the financial services sector, including topics such as accounting, information systems, economics, business law and management. You'll graduate with a combination of core and specialist knowledge, and the skills to apply what you've learned wherever your career takes you.

Accounting is a dynamic profession that is concerned with so much more than just number crunching. As an accountant, you will develop the skills to provide professional advice to managers in industry, government and the not-for-profit sector on issues such as organisational performance, capital structure, and how best to communicate financial as well as non-financial data to interested stakeholders. As a graduate from the Business School at the University of Queensland, you will be eligible for professional recognition from ACCA, CPA Australia, the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA). Study accounting and build the foundations for a life-long, rewarding career. Scholarships - View all scholarships Internships
