About the course

In addition to the communication and relational skills you develop, the small business knowledge and entrepreneurial skills gained from the program mean you will be equipped to be an employee or to establish yourself as a sole practitioner, able to provide highly ethical and professional services in a range of settings.Graduates knowledge of policy will help them to navigate major systems such as the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and My Aged Care policies and to enhance service provision, inform social policy and promote social inclusion within the ageing and disability sectors.Third year work placements will also provide valuable practice experience during which you will learn first-hand what it’s like to work in local, rural and international settings.This degree equips you with the knowledge and skills to meet the social and emotional wellbeing needs of individuals, families and carers involved with ageing and disability services.You will apply a broad and coherent body of knowledge of political, behavioural and social sciences in a range of ageing and disability focused human service contexts.navigating major systems such as the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and My Aged Care policies,informing social policy development,promoting social inclusion within the ageing and disability sectors.

Entry requirements for University of South Australia

Recent secondary education : Meet any prerequisite requirements with a minimum grade of C- or equivalent AND Qualify for the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE), and achieved a competitive Selection Rank (ATAR), or Complete secondary qualifications equivalent to SACE, or Complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum score of 24 points.

  Higher education study : Complete or partly complete a recognised higher education program at a recognised higher education institution, or Complete at least four Open Universities Australia (OUA) courses at undergraduate level or above.

  Vocational Education and Training (VET): Complete an award from a registered training organisation at Certificate IV or above.

  IELTS total [6.0], IELTS reading [6.0], IELTS writing [6.0]. TOEFL PBT - 550 with TWE of 4.5.TOEFL IBT - 60 with Reading and Writing not less than 18.
