About the course

Our Bachelor of Social Practice will prepare you for employment and registration in social work and community development with basic skills in counselling. This programme comprehensively trains students to be social practitioners who are able to apply their skills to the ever-changing demands of employers, clients, and the community. How to apply

Entry requirements for Te Pukenga trading as Unitec New Zealand Limited

All students, international and domestic, for whom English, Māori or NZ Sign is not their first language should be able to produce an IELTS score of 6.5 with no band score lower than 6.5 or a TOEFL score of no less than 575 or equivalent.

  Exempted from IELTS examination are:

  a. EAL applicants who have studied in New Zealand for a minimum of two years at secondary school, and who have eight, level 2 NCEA literacy credits (4 credits in

  reading, 4 in writing)

  b. Applicants whose medium of instruction was fully in English in a New Zealand or Australian tertiary education organisation and who are graduates at degree level 7 or higher.
