About the course
The B.S. degree is designed to provide a stronger scientific and mathematical background, preparing you for both clinical work and research. The B.S. in Speech and Hearing Sciences provides a strong preparation to apply to graduate programs in audiology and speech-language pathology. Research experience is recommended for majors who would like to pursue an advanced degree. Our department includes 11 research labs where you can gain experience in speech perception, language development, voice disorders, bilingual language, and audiology. Our students come from a variety of backgrounds and interests, but they generally share some of these qualities- Strong verbal communication skills. An interest in phonology and the origins of language. A desire to help others. Empathy for patients with communication disorders. Highly analytical, pragmatic, and logical. Entry requirements for Indiana University - Bloomington

Students who are homeschooled or attend an alternative school should submit credentials that demonstrate equivalent levels of achievement and ability.
