About the course

Terrapin Teachers is an innovative program designed to produce a new generation of highly qualified instructors in STEM subjects. In this program, you can earn a STEM degree PLUS eligibility for certification as a middle or high school teacher. Terrapin Teachers provides an opportunity for you to explore teaching Why teach There is a high demand for STEM teachers across Maryland and throughout the nation. There are loan forgiveness and scholarship programs available for science and math teachers. The Average starting teacher salaries in Maryland are 50,000-60,000 for a 10-month contract.You can start by enrolling in our first course, TLPL 101, where you will teach science or math lessons in a local elementary school. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Maryland - College Park

Your institution must submit an official copy of your high school transcripts listing all courses you have completed from all schools attended. Where appropriate, include official results and certificates of completion from national secondary school examinations such as GCSE/GCE, CBSE national and regional, CXC/CSEC and WAEC. Transcripts must be sent in the native language along with a certified English translation. The SAT or the ACT is required. If neither the SAT nor the ACT is available in your country, submit a written request for a waiver of this requirement with your application. Applicants who don’t submit some form of official standardized testing may be at a competitive disadvantage.
