The College of Education and Human Development offers a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education.

  The student completing the Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education will demonstrate the following:

  Demonstrate content knowledge.

  Demonstrate appropriate dispositions to be an effective secondary teacher.

  Demonstrate ability to design, implement and evaluate effective secondary curriculum and instruction.

  The secondary program of study is progressive.

  Initial coursework reinforces candidates' decision to become a teacher and introduces them to pedagogy and relevant content.

  The program provides candidates with core education coursework, greater opportunities for field experiences, and support to begin the development of an electronic portfolio that displays the candidates' ability to apply theory to practice.
