Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Technician Studies (Add-on)

About the course

This course is designed to reflect the changing roles of Pharmacy Technicians. Sláinte Care (2018), the Irish Government’s ten-year programme for health services in Ireland, places an emphasis on prevention and self-management of chronic illness. Pharmacy teams in Ireland, both in community and hospital settings, have a key role in the delivery of Sláinte Care’s objectives. Pharmacy technicians are vital members of these pharmacy teams. If you would like to enhance your scope of practice as a Pharmacy Technician, contributing to effective and safe optimisation of patients' medicines and personalised healthcare in a responsible and ethical way, then this course is for you. This is a 60-credit add-on Programme for learners who have completed 120 credits of the Higher Certificate in Pharmacy Technician Studies or equivalent. During the Programme, learners will undertake more advanced and specific modules but will also continue the development of transferable skills such as written and verbal communication skills, examination skills and team working.
