About the course

Mathematics is the language for understanding patterns and developing abstractions. It is the science of number, structure, shape, and change. Practitioners learn to think analytically and critically, and to formulate and solve problems. The role of mathematics is vital and growing, providing solutions to problems in a wide range of disciplines including physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, computer science, and economics. As a result, employment opportunities for those with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics continue to expand. Combined with a California single subject credential in mathematics, a BS in mathematics prepares students to teach at the high school level. How to apply

Entry requirements for California State University - Chico

Official high transcript(s) – both the original and a translated English version must be submitted. Completion of a university-preparatory secondary/high school program with a 3.0 (B in the U.S. system) or Very Good GPA.

　　University-preparatory mathematics courses including beginning algebra, geometry, and intermediate algebra. All must have passing grades (C or better, or the equivalent). TOEFL - paper 500, TOEFL - internet based test (IBT) 61, IELTS 6.
