About the course

The Interior Design major prepares students to design innovative, functional, supportive and responsible interior environments that positively impact the quality of life. The curriculum develops students' skills and knowledge in color and design, drafting, space planning, building and interior systems, materials and finishes, historical interiors, building and barrier-free codes, and Auto-CAD. The needs of special populations and the mandates that regulate the field of interior design are emphasized. Interior Design at Illinois State prepares students to design innovative and functional spaces. Students in this program have access to a state-of-the art studio that includes a lighting lab, materials library, and technology. How to apply

Entry requirements for Illinois State University

Official academic records, from all schools attended (in original language and an official word for word English translation). Earn a total score of 79 on the internet based test (iBT) Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), a 550 on the paper based TOEFL or total score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing (IELTS) assessment.
