This program was designed with you in mind. Our faculty are friendly, caring and passionate, and are committed to teaching and helping you achieve your dreams of becoming an interior designer. This program prepares you for an entry-level position and career as an interior designer who creatively addresses the aesthetic, functional and technical aspects of the interior environment. You?ll study foundational design elements and principles, along with design methods the functional and pragmatic application of construction systems, building codes and regulations, and the selection of appropriate finishes, materials and furnishings. The curriculum also includes the study of design theory, behavior science and human behavior, as well as the history of the interior environments. Be a graduate of a senior high school approved or accredited by the department of education of the state in which it is located, OR
Have earned high school equivalency through the General Educational Development (GED) testing program (issued by the state department of education), OR
Present GED test results and ACT or SAT test results, if the student completed secondary education through an alternative program such as home schooling, OR
Present an international baccalaureate diploma or certificate.
Admission is selective. In general, we require a high school record that includes four units each of English and mathematics, three units each of science and social studies, two units of a foreign language, and one unit of visual or performing arts.
An applicant is considered for admission on the basis of four criteria:
