About the course
The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Miami is a community of scholars and students that encourages the quest for a deeper understanding of the human experience and fosters a personal commitment to lifelong learning, intellectual growth, and the enduring values of the liberal arts. The College is dedicated to helping students develop analytical and communication skills, creative abilities, and a sense of civic responsibility needed in an increasingly complex society. Students in the College of Engineering can pursue a dual major in Engineering and Physics, which consists of a regular major in Engineering, plus selected courses in physics. The physics courses required are the complete University Physics sequence for Engineers, plus 11 additional credits in physics at the 300 level or higher, including PHY 350, PHY 360, and one between PHY 321, PHY 340, and PHY 560.

If you have attended a secondary school outside of the United States, you must submit your official secondary school documents (transcripts, mark sheets, certificates, examination results, etc.) to Josef Silny & Associates, Inc. for a course-by-course evaluation and grade point average calculation that will be sent directly to us. Please note that we will only accept official evaluations directly from Josef Silny & Associates, Inc. Paper Based TOEFL (PBT): 550, Internet Based TOEFL (IBT): 80, IELTS (Academic): 6.5.
