As computer systems and the Internet of Things become an essential part of everyday lives, protecting their security and privacy is a top priority. In our interconnected world, cyberattacks can affect businesses and communities all over the world, and cybersecurity engineers are the ones defending our rapidly changing digital frontier. Cybersecurity engineers design hardened systems, build secure applications and networks, analyze data breaches and identify vulnerabilities in cyberspace, confronting emerging threats and driving technological innovation.

　　UD Cybersecurity Engineering graduates are in high demand as the cybersecurity industry rapidly grows every year. Most graduates pursue exciting careers in the private sector, including technology companies, banking institutions, and telecommunication providers, as well as government agencies, research centers, and the defense industry. Alternatively, cybersecurity engineering graduates choose to pursue graduate education, including master’s or Ph.D. degrees, as well as attend business, medical or law schools. Students who earn advanced degrees in engineering usually advance into leadership positions within their discipline, or pursue a career in advanced research in industry or academia.
