About the course

In this program, you?ll become fluent in several programming languages and learn about data structures, algorithms, machine learning, data science, networks and operating systems to drive the economy forward. You can also explore software engineering, computer vision, robotics, artificial intelligence, web-based development, human-computer interaction, computer graphics and virtual reality. You?ll have access to specialized applied-research facilities and labs in the state-of-the-art George Vari Engineering and Computing Centre, and can pursue an optional paid co-op and/or concentration in Software Engineering that will prepare you for your career. How to apply

Entry requirements for Toronto Metropolitan University

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses including the following program specific requirements.

  Typically, a minimum overall average of 70% establishes eligibility for admission consideration, subject to competition individual programs may require higher pre-requisite grades and/or higher overall averages:

  English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred) English/Anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred)

  Advanced Functions (MHF4U)

  One of: Physics (SPH4U), Chemistry (SCH4U), Biology (SBI4U)

  One of: Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U) or Mathematics of Data Management (MDM4U)

  Grade 12 U Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U) is the preferred mathematics course. Completion of Grade 12 U Physics (SPH4U) is recommended.

  The minimum grade(s) required in the subject prerequisites (normally in the 65-70% range) will be determined subject to competition.

  IELTS: 6.5, TOEFL ibt: 92-93, TOEFL pbt: 580. Applicants who have completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma must present grades of 4 or higher in three Higher Level and three Standard Level subjects with a grade total of 28 or higher. Subject to competition, applicants may be required to present averages/grades above the minimum. IB Higher Levels with grades of 5 or higher may be considered for transfer credit on an individual basis. Engineering students are not eligible for transfer credits for core and professional engineering courses using IB subjects.
