About the course
A computer science degree is highly marketable. Between 2010 and 2020, one study projects that there will be a shortfall of 32 million technically specialized professionals in the U.S., Europe, Japan, China and India. Consequently, students who graduate with a bachelor's degree in CS are in high demand. The average starting salary is 65,000. Our curriculum is designed with considerable flexibility, due to the numerous types of computer science jobs that exist. The bachelor's degree provides every student with a strong fundamental understanding of the field. Students may then select from exciting computer science electives such as artificial intelligence, computational biology, computer networks, databases, machine learning, robotics, operating systems, software engineering, web design and special topics courses. Students who complete a bachelor's degree will find themselves both highly marketable and well-prepared for graduate school.

How to apply
Entry requirements for Montana State University
Graduation from a high school accredited by the state accrediting agency, or a passing score on an approved high school equivalency exam such as HiSET or GED. Students who complete their secondary education through home schooling or at unaccredited secondary schools may be admitted as long as they have satisfactorily performed on the ACT or SAT test and provide a final high school transcript prior to enrollment at MSU. Freshmen will be considered for admission on the basis of their secondary school record and their English proficiency. Applicants who can prove their English language proficiency and have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.5/4.0 on a U.S. scale will qualify for admission. Obtaining a minimum required score on an English Proficiency examination: Internet-based TOEFL test (iBT) – 71, Paper-based TOEFL test (PBT) – 525, IELTS - 6.0
