About the course

Students in Media/Communication Studies will gain a solid liberal education highlighting media studies and human communication. Courses include the study of the history, evolution and the changing state of mass media, communication technologies, and techniques in mass media production. A goal of our program is for students to develop an understanding for the economic and social effects of media, including legal and ethical issues. Our graduates have achieved career success in areas such as information technologies, advertising, public relations, and broadcast journalism, and preparation for graduate study and professions in law, politics, lobbying, speech writing, and management. How to apply

Entry requirements for Florida State University

All credentials from non-U.S. institutions must be evaluated by a foreign credential evaluation agency to include a U.S. equivalent grade point average. We recommend a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. All academic records must be issued in the native language and be accompanied by a certified English translation. All transcripts/academic records that are not in English must be accompanied by certified English translations. If the transcript/academic record does not indicate the degree earned and date the degree was awarded, separate proof of degree is required. We require freshman applicants to submit at least one ACT and/or SAT test score to be considered for admission. Florida State does not require the optional ACT writing score or the optional SAT essay. We encourage applicants to take both the ACT and SAT, and to attempt each exam more than one time to earn the highest possible score. Internet based TOEFL (IBTOEFL): 80, Paper based TOEFL (TOEFL): 550, International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 6.5.
