About the course

Drexel?s Department of Chemistry offers both a BA and a BS degree in chemistry. The BA is offered as a 4-year non-co-op program for those interested in following their undergraduate education in chemistry with professional school, such as law or medicine. The BS degree, offered in three formats (a 5-year three co-op, 4-year one co-op and a 4-year non-co-op), is certified by the American Chemical Society. In addition, a minor in chemistry is available for students in other majors who desire a strong physical science background. Each student plans a course of study and selects electives in consultation with an advisor in the Department of Chemistry. Students who show initiative and laboratory ability are encouraged to participate in undergraduate research by selecting a research problem in collaboration with one of the departmental faculty members. Students in the BS program are required to participate in undergraduate research through the Senior Research courses. How to apply

Entry requirements for Drexel University

A transcript is official only when it is sent directly from an institution to the Office of Admissions, or when it is officially signed, stamped in color, and sealed.

　　Use your legal name on all documents (should match the name listed on your passport).

　　All students who attended any portion of secondary school outside of the U.S. are required to submit an official academic record (with notarized English translation) from every secondary or postsecondary school attended. Transcripts must reflect 9th, 10th, and 11th grade coursework and grades earned, as well as any 12th grade coursework in progress. Please refer to our Transcript Requirements for International First-Year Applicants as a guideline, or email [email protected] if your country is not listed.

　　International first-year applicants whose first (or native) language is not English must take the TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English Test (DET), PTE, or Cambridge English Exam and request that official results are forwarded to the Office of Admissions. Drexel's TOEFL school code is 2194.

　　For applicants from Mainland China: The TOEFL ITP Plus for China is accepted in all cases where the TOEFL iBT is accepted.

　　Exemptions from an English proficiency exam may occur for the following reasons:

　　Your first (or native) language is English.

　　You have studied at a high school for a minimum of three complete years where English is the primary language of instruction. We strongly recommend that students who choose this exemption still submit the TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE exams to demonstrate English language proficiency.

　　You have received a minimum score of 600 on the SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section or a minimum score of 27 on the ACT English section.
