About the course

Chemical engineers play an important role in society, finding new ways to convert raw materials into finished products and make improvements to daily life. The impact chemical engineers are having on our environment and our world are being realized right now from the oil sands of Fort McMurray to the desert sands of the Sahara.

　　Our Chemical Engineering program is regarded one of the leading programs of its kind in North America and is distinguished for its oil sands and biomedical research. You will learn from professors who are leading researchers in their field and well respected in both academic and industry circles.

　　This degree can be taken as a Co-op (co-operative education) program. Through the Co-op program, you will have the opportunity to complete paid, supervised work terms throughout your degree. Co-op programs are great way to challenge yourself, gain relevant work experience, and make connections to industry before you graduate

Entry requirements for University of Alberta

Admission is based on your complete academic history and achievement in three main areas: your grades, your English proficiency, and completion of required subjects.TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) When requesting TOEFL scores - iBT: At least 90 with a minimum score of 21 points in each section.
